for the last month or so i have been seeing these billboards around dallas that had me greatly puzzled. granted, anyone who knows me knows that this state of mind is all too common for me. they are plain black billboards with a picture of a person and the words "i am second". i was really curious.

finally, last sunday at church my questions were answered. we are starting a month-long series on prayer, and our pastor invited a woman who shared her story and experience with prayer. she is part of the i am second movement. her story was emotional both because of the pain and joy that she had been through. her name was Karen and you can hear her story along with others at iamsecond.com. more of her story can be found here. they described how they found hope in the midst of their total despair and utter longing. even if you have not reached that point yet, we all should know there is always Hope.
